This issue is typically the safety sensors that can be found at the bottom of your door. Each motor unit can be different, however the lights on the sensors should be fully lit, not flickering, and free from obstruction, debris, etc. If this problem persist, new sensors may be needed.
These issues typically indicate a broken spring. Springs are what handles all of the weight of the door. Without springs, the door is inoperable. Trained technicians have many different types of springs instock and can be replaced within 30-60 minutes.
Garage door motors typically have several parts that may cause these issues. The most common causes are a damaged circuit board, a blown or overheated capacitor, or internal gears that have sheared.
